Pinterest Users Are Tired of All the AI Slop
Many Pinterest users have expressed frustration with the increasing amount of AI-generated content that floods their feeds.
Originally a platform known for curated content and user-generated pins, Pinterest’s algorithm now heavily relies on artificial intelligence to suggest pins to users.
While this may seem like a convenient way to discover new content, many users feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of AI-generated pins that appear on their homepages.
Some users have even reported feeling like they are being bombarded with irrelevant pins that don’t align with their interests or tastes.
As a result, many Pinterest users are calling for a return to the platform’s roots, where user-curated content was king.
They long for a time when they could browse through carefully selected pins from people with similar tastes, rather than being fed an endless stream of AI-generated content.
Some users have taken matters into their own hands and have started curating their boards more meticulously to avoid the AI slop.
Others have even gone so far as to create “anti-algorithm” boards, where they only pin content that the AI is less likely to pick up on.
It remains to be seen whether Pinterest will take the feedback from its users into consideration and make changes to its algorithm to prioritize user-generated content once again.
But for now, many Pinterest users are simply tired of all the AI slop cluttering up their feeds.
